NEC Birmingham
As the incumbent supplier road surfacing and repairs contractor to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Thomas Bow City Asphalt has secured a £1.2m contract to upgrade most of the car parks across the site.
The work, due for completion in 2016, includes car park extensions, a new access road and new drainage, all designed to maximise the current car parking capacity at the site.
The move comes after the completion of two dedicated car parks for the new Resorts World facility earlier this year. John Allen Major Projects and Compliance Director commented, “We’ve enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the NEC and it’s great to have our teams back at the NEC continuing to support the development of this facility”
Earlier this year the NEC reported record growth for its conference and live events business. Conference revenue increased by 43% year on year whilst revenue from larger experiential live events increased by 47%.
