This four year contract see’s Derby City Council and Nottingham City Council come together for the first time on a joint highway infrastructure framework to cover 1,537km of highways over 15,303 hectares. Thomas Bow City Asphalt were successful in maintaining their relationship with these councils into this joint venture. The framework covers road markings, fencing, temporary traffic management, earthworks, traffic signals, carriageway maintenance and footway maintenance.
Works to date have included many highway schemes from small patch repairs, to drain replacement with full road reconstruction at Chaddesden Lane in Derby, to redevelopment of the Nottingham Ring Road over a two year period.
The variety of schemes has demanded a flexible approach, carrying out urgent small schemes expediently, while programming larger schemes to reduce impact and working alongside the client as part of their asset management.
