Brandshatch Surfacing
Just after Easter, Thomas Bow completed another successful scheme for long standing client, MotorSport Vision, at Brands Hatch race circuit.
The scheme focused on three sections of the race track in need of modernising; ‘Graham Hill bend’ and ‘Paddock Hill’ bend on the ‘Indy Track’, as well as ‘Dingle Dell’ on the ‘GP Track’. This followed months of planning, working closely with the client and internationally renowned specialist consulting engineers.
Pre-agreed methods of working and seamless planning with supply chain partners were key in the smooth delivery of this project. Fundamentally, a close supply chain who provided a bespoke surface course essential for the works; 10mm FM Conway’s SureTrack consisting of their polymer modified bitumen SurePol HD binder. This specialist binder was ideal for the niche nature of these works as it provides a more durable and gripping surface, it’s also designed to withstand the higher temperatures from cars going at high speeds.
Alistair Bow, Managing Director commented “It’s great to see yet another successful race circuit scheme delivered by our teams. We’ve put a lot of effort into the planning of this project which paid dividends in the faultless delivery which, in turn was noted by our clients.”
Following completion of the scheme, Duncan Nesbit, Estate and Track Manager of Motor Sport Vision reached out to Alistair Bow. “I just wanted to add my personal thanks for the efforts [on this scheme], working with Geoff and Chris beforehand to organise getting all the plant [equipment and materials] onsite made life much easier than I expected and the execution of the work was excellent, the care and attention to detail by Guy and the crew was of the highest standard as always.”
