Merry Hill Shopping Centre, located just 10 miles west of Birmingham, is a significant retail park and home to more than 250 shops, multiplex cinema, restaurants and more than 8,000 car parking spaces. As a major retail destination in the West Midlands it attracts over 24 million customers annually.

Since acquiring Merry Hill in 2004, Westfield has improved the Centre considerably and this major development continues to evolve and improve. As part of this on-going enhancement, Thomas Bow City Asphalt were appointed as Principal Contractors to undertake a major refurbishment of the Merry Hill’s car parks and waterfront areas.

The development phase commenced with extensive stakeholder engagement along with careful pedestrian and traffic management planning, prior to commencing on site mid-September. The works included the planing, resurfacing and lining of more than 40,000 m2 of car parking area. These works form part of a five year programme of investment by the Client.
